New LB signing from Chelsea who shined on loan for Dortmund last season.
Remains to be seen whether he’ll be a guaranteed starter but he should get plenty of minutes this season.
Provides offensive threat on and off the ball, meaning he’s capable of picking up a couple of assists when he does play.
Matty Cash (£4.5m)
The Polish international is not expected to start at RB,
He’s risky as an FPL asset as he’ll likely be on the bench most games and get substituted in for a 1 pointer.
Diego Carlos (£4.5m)
Solid defender who’s strong in the air. Started the important games towards the tail-end of the last season.
Difficult to say whether he’ll remain 1st choice, as Tyrone Mings is back from injury.
Ezri Konsa (£4.5m)
1st choice RCB who should start the vast majority of games in this position.
Can also slot in at RB when needed.
Should have some opportunities for attacking returns and with an improved midfield setup in front of him, there’s solid clean sheet potential for him.
Àlex Moreno (£4.5m) / Lucas Digne (£4.5m)
Will rotate based on the opposition and competiton.
There are rumours of Moreno leaving the club and heading back to Spain, which would leave Digne to fight for the starting spot with Maatsen.
Tyrone Mings (£4.5m)
Missed almost all of the last campaign through injury but, when fit, is the first choice LCB.
He’s tall, good on the ball and deceptively quick. When combined with his threat from set pieces, Mings is a great candidate for a cheap defender to add to your FPL team.
Pau Torres (£4.5m)
Played 27 games last season at LCB, in the absence of Tyrone Mings.
Will likely start the season as 1st choice whilst Mings gets up to speed.
