In previous seasons, Haaland has been an indispensable asset with massive ownership figures.
However, his £15m price this year presents managers with a tough decision, because there are value forward picks who could enable a more balanced overall team for a negligible point hit.
City is set up to feed Haaland with chances, so he should comfortably manage another 20+ goals this season. With penalty duties and such a significant goalscoring output, he’s a hard asset to pass up, so the decision is 50/50.
Julián Álvarez (£7m)
Álvarez is 2nd choice to Haaland in the striker position, but if he remains at the club, he will get time playing in the CAM role in place of De Bruyne or Foden, who will be rotated from time to time.
There isn’t much of an argument to justify his inclusion in your FPL team at the moment, so keep an eye out to see if he gets a transfer to another Premier League club, which would undoubtedly make him a much more attractive proposition.
