As Everton’s 1st choice goalkeeper, Pickford has performed very well over the last couple of seasons.
He was second to David Raya for clean sheets with a total of 13 in the last campaign, and we project he’ll improve on that tally as Sean Dyche will now have a full season to employ his tactical setup.
For £5m, I’d normally avoid but Pickford is projected to pick up a similar number of clean sheets this season, if not more, whilst also pulling in save points. This makes him one of the top goalkeeper choices this season.
João Virgínia (£4m)
Will not threaten Pickford’s starting role barring a serious drop in the 1st choice keeper’s performances, so should only get playing time in cup competitions.
