Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m)

  • Manchester United’s captain and penalty taker is a machine who will start virtually every game.
  • Unfortunately, in the last season, Ten Hag deployed him in a slightly deeper role to help with the team’s buildup play from the back.
  • This came at the detriment of his chance creation and goalscoring at the opposite end of the pitch.
  • Either way, you can confidently expect him to deliver double digits for goals and a sizeable chunk of assists over the course of the campaign.
  • For £8.5m he’s someone who should definitely be considered, especially if Ten Hag can fix the team’s attacking efficiency.

Marcus Rashford (£7m)

  • Rashford isn’t the clear 1st choice LW as Garnacho displaced him on the left flank last season.
  • He’ll likely start the campaign getting his minutes off of the bench, and only becomes an interesting Fantasy option if Amad Diallo (1st choice RW) suffers an injury that would see Garnacho shifted to the right side.
  • Capable of being an explosive asset, he’s a streaky player who will keep on scoring when he gets into good match rhythm.

Alejandro Garnacho (£6.5m)

  • United’s 1st choice LW is one to watch, especially if he can match his impressive starting numbers for the previous campaign.
  • 10 goals and 10 assists isn’t out of the question for Garnacho over the course of the season, which would make him a fantastic mid-price midfield option.
  • His biggest weapon is his ability to beat his man and draw fouls in and around the penalty box, so he’ll likely be rewarded more often on the bonus points system.

Mason Mount (£6.5m)

  • The coaching staff at United clearly view mount for the central midfield profile as opposed to the CAM role.
  • Because he’s previously been deployed as one of the two players in the midfield pivot, his potential returns as an FPL asset would be limited by nature.
  • When you also add in the fact that he’s unlikely to feature as a starter, it’s easy to keep him out of your team.

Kobbie Mainoo (£5.5m)

  • Mainoo excels at ball progression from deep areas and should have an even better season than the last, getting more games under his belt as a starting midfielder.
  • He’s not likely to score much though, so definitely avoid.

Amad Diallo (£5m)

  • It’s now or never for Amad, who has the chance to cement his place as the RW at United for the next couple of years.
  • He came into the starting 11 towards the tail end of the last season and showed flashes of quality.
  • At £5m he can be a decent enabler, especially if he can perform to a higher level than what we’ve already seen of him.

Casemiro (£5m)

  • Casemiro’s position in the starting 11 is by no means guaranteed, especially with rumours surrounding the acquisition of Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
  • He could also be on the way out of the club, and isn’t a player you’d normally consider for FPL, so avoid altogether.

Bench options:

  • Jadon Sancho (£6.5m)
  • Antony (£6m)
  • Christian Eriksen (£5.5m)
  • Scott McTominay (£5m)
  • Hannibal Mejbri (£4.5m)
